Tabib removes asbestos waste, transports and transfers this waste to sites approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The company employs an asbestos inspector certified by the authorities to inspect asbestos removal jobs.
Asbestos is a generic name for a group of natural substances, each distinct from the other, such as white asbestos, blue asbestos and brown asbestos. It is prohibited to import raw asbestos into Israel except for a limited quantity of cement-asbestos based products and other asbestos products, all in limited quantities and with a special permit. The asbestos appears in nature as a fiber mineral, and is mined all over the world (but not in Israel). Exposure to the asbestos fibers can cause lung disease known as asbestosis, lung cancer and a rare disease known as mesothelioma, which damages the lung and stomach lining.
